Anti-trust Violations Artificially Raised Interchange Rates for Merchants
$6.24 Billion Class Action Settlement will Provide Payments to Merchants that Accepted Visa and Mastercard since 2004.
The Court has preliminarily approved a proposed settlement of a maximum of approximately $6.24 billion and a minimum of at least $5.54 billion in a class action lawsuit, called Payment Card Interchange Fee and Merchant Discount Antitrust Litigation, MDL 1720 (MKB) (JO). The lawsuit is about claims that merchants paid excessive fees to accept Visa and Mastercard cards because Visa and Mastercard, individually, and together with their respective member banks, violated the antitrust laws.
Who is included in the lawsuit?
All persons, businesses, and other entities that have accepted any Visa and/or Mastercard-Branded Cards in the United States at any time from January 1, 2004 to January 25, 2019.
Claim filing deadline is May 31st, 2024 so don't delay.
